Nrtyopasana
A devoted Odissi dancer and performer, Upasana has been immersed in the world of Indian classical dance since the age of three. Trained under the traditional Guru-Shishya Parampara, she holds a Visharad degree in Odissi and has also explored the vibrant worlds of Indian folk and Bollywood dance. Her talent was recognized early, leading to performances on several Indian television channels, including the iconic dance show Boogie Woogie, hosted by Javed Jaffrey, Naved Jaffrey, and Ravi Behl.
With over two decades of experience, Upasana has graced numerous stages across India, celebrating the diverse languages of Indian movement. However, it is Odissi that remained closest to her heart—a dance form she sees not merely as performance, but as meditation in motion. For her, Odissi is a pathway to presence, grounding, and inner joy.
Now based in Switzerland, she is on a mission to introduce this rich classical tradition to new audiences. Through performances, classes, and workshops, she seeks to inspire both the young and the elderly to discover the joy of connecting with their bodies through dance. Her approach blends discipline with devotion, making classical dance both accessible and deeply fulfilling.
Upasana invites you to embark on a journey through rhythm, expression, and tradition—one step at a time.
